Association History

Twenty-nine former students of Crofton House School in Vancouver's West End initiated the Croftonian Old Girls' Association in 1915. Their goal was to maintain school friendships through various activities, and that is still the association's goal today.

Membership is open to Crofton House School graduates and 'Old Girls' – those who attend the school for two or more years. The Association is run by the Association Executive consisting of the President, Vice President, Past President, Treasurer, Secretary and Uniform Shop Manager. The Head of School and Headmistress Emerita are honorary members. Ex-officio members include the Director of Advancement and the Alumnae Relations Officer. Four to five meetings take place throughout the year. The Annual General Meeting is held on the school's birthday on the first Friday each March during which the Alumnae Achievement Award is presented to an outstanding alumnae or Old Girl. The AGM is followed by a luncheon celebrating key reunion years.

Other events include a social get-together before the school's Carol Service in December, a Cypress snowshoe and fondue in February and in October of 2010, a new event was launched called 'Inspiring Women', an evening of exciting conversations, networking and socializing.

As a volunteer driven association, we raise funds for student scholarships and bursaries, operate the Uniform Shop and donate all profits and provide birthday gifts to the school and remain actively involved with school functions.

The Association, in partnership with the school, is committed to making it easy for you to stay connected, engaged and involved with your classmates, other alumnae and the school. With your input, we continue to renew and expand our alumnae activities and services that add value to the alumnae experience and to the life and work of Crofton House.
