Student Leadership

School Officers
Crofton House Senior School has a Head Girl, an Assistant Head Girl, and five School Prefects who make up the executive of the student council. The executive is elected by students in grades 8-12 and teachers. In addition, there are six House Captains who are elected by girls from grades 8-12 in their Houses. All school officers are leaders within the school and help to ensure that school values and rules are upheld.

The Executive
The members of the executive work directly with the Senior School directors and are responsible for representing the entire student body. They act as liaisons between the students and the administration and teachers to organize special student events and to help address student concerns. In addition, each prefect in the executive has a specific portfolio.

House Captains
The House Captains are responsible for inspiring House loyalty and involvement in House activities through enthusiasm and friendliness. They organize and chair House meetings and work with the House Prefect to record House points. They lead House activities such as Sports Day, House plays, and other House competitions. Each House Captain has an Assistant House Captain who helps her with these responsibilities throughout the school year.

Student Council
The student council meets regularly throughout the year to discuss student issues and coordinate events. Three student council representatives are elected from each grade (8-12). The grade 9-12 representatives sit on the council for the full school year and the grade 8 representatives serve half-year terms. In addition, the executive sits on the council; the Head Girl is the president of the student council.

Student Council Representatives
A student council representative attends all meetings of the student council. She brings ideas from her grade to the meetings and is required to report back to her grade, during advisor time, what has been discussed and any resolutions that are to be voted on.

Advisor Group Representatives (Grades 8-11)
Every advisor group elects a representative twice a year. The advisor representative brings ideas from her advisor group to her student council representative.
