Uniform

School Uniform Policy

All Crofton House School students must wear the complete regulation school uniform during school hours. We ask that parents assist in having their daughters attend in correct school uniform. All clothing should be clearly marked with the student's name.

Senior School Uniform Requirements

  • Students may change into team athletic wear at the first break prior to team departure
  • Number One Uniform will be worn for Monday assemblies, special assemblies, and on field trips unless otherwise specified.
  • Students are to wear their number one uniform to their first block prior to assembly.
  • CHS fleece and/or sweatshirt is not to be worn under the blazer.

The Number One uniform includes these items:

  • Gordon tartan school skirt (the appropriate skirt length is to be a minimum of 6 inches from the knees)
  • navy school V-neck, cardigan, or sweater vest
  • navy school two-button blazer
  • school crest for blazer
  • white CHS blouse
  • CHS polo shirt (optional)
  • black shoes (no boots, runners, or backless shoes) with a maximum 2 inch heel
  • CHS fleece vest, sweatshirt, or jacket
  • CHS scarf (optional)

Grade 12 Option

  • Crofton House School tie

Winter Option (Terms 1 & 2 only)

  • Grad jacket or grad fleece
  • navy knee socks
  • navy or black tights

Summer Option (Term 3 only)

  • white socks: ankle or knee high

Outerwear

It is preferred that students wear a navy, dark green, or black three-quarter or full-length coat or jacket, CHS fleece jacket and/or vest, or CHS sweatshirt. Outerwear other than the CHS fleece jacket or vest or CHS sweatshirt is not to be worn inside the school buildings.

Physical Education Uniform

All physical education clothing must be Crofton House School design:

  • CHS navy PE shorts
  • CHS white T-shirt
  • CHS hoodie top and pants
  • white socks
  • white running shoes (no Keds or similar)

Jewellery
Modest and tasteful jewellery is acceptable. Facial piercings, including tongue, lip, eyebrow, are not acceptable. Small, flat, stud nose piercings are acceptable.

Hair Accessories
All hair bands, scrunchies, ribbons, and barrettes should be navy, black, dark green, white, or Gordon tartan.

Hair Dye
Students may dye their hair any natural colour; extreme hairstyles and/or colours are not permitted.

Uniform Infraction Procedures:

  1. First infraction Warning
  2. Second infraction Advisor sends student to administrator
  3. Third infraction Parents contacted by administration

Students who aspire to be leaders should be aware that they are modeling comportment for other students. Therefore, they can expect that if they receive uniform infractions, they will be compromising their candidacy for leadership positions.
