Accessibility Act
The Accessible British Columbia Regulation, under the Accessible British Columbia Act, came into force on September 1, 2022. These regulations identify schools as prescribed organizations, school districts, and independent schools will be required to have an Accessibility Committee, an Accessibility Plan, and a tool to receive feedback on accessibility by September 1, 2023. The goal of the act is to improve opportunities for people with disabilities and involve them in identifying, removing, and preventing barriers to their full participation in the life of the province.
Accessibility Plan
Crofton House School is a member of the Independent School Association of BC and has submitted the School’s specific accessibility plan and actions to the ISABC as part of the overall ISABC Accessibility Plan (text version) and (graphic version). If you would like to provide your feedback on the plan please use this feedback form. Questions, comments, or feedback regarding the collective ISABC Accessibility Plan may be directed to Bonnie Fisher, bonniefisher@isabc.ca.
Report An Accessibility Barrier
Crofton House has developed a barrier reporting form that allows members of the ISABC community to include information about their accessible experiences. Responses can be anonymous, or a name and contact information can be provided if the person completing the form wishes to be contacted.
Website Accessibility
Accessibility Statement
We want everyone who visits the Crofton House School (CHS) website to feel welcome and find the experience rewarding.
What are we doing?
To help us make the CHS website a positive place for everyone, we've been using the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities, and user friendly for everyone.
The guidelines have three levels of accessibility (A, AA and AAA). We’ve chosen Level AA as the target for the CHS website
How are we doing?
We've worked hard on the CHS website and believe we've achieved our goal of Level AA accessibility. We monitor the website regularly to maintain this, but if you do find any problems, please get in touch.
