Message from the President of the CHS Alumnae Association

On behalf of the Alumnae Association, I wanted to welcome everyone “back” from summer. There is still something about the Fall that signals a new start to me, whether you’ve had extended time off, stolen some time here and there, or had no time off at all. It has been a busy summer from the Association’s perspective, as we have been moving along with our Strategic Planning process. Our task force held a number of sessions over July and August, working hard to refine the plan so that we have something to present to membership soon. We wanted to thank everyone who has participated in the process so far and we will continue to keep you informed.

This coming year will be equally busy for us. Based on the results of the survey that many of you completed, we are working on more ways to connect alumnae with each other, whether it be in person or virtually. To that end, we are going to be changing the structure of our meetings in order to connect with more alumnae. Normally, our meetings are held in person and have been largely limited to those living in the Lower Mainland. With the move to a virtual platform, we can now extend the invitation more broadly. Our first Association meeting is coming up on September 29th and we will be holding it virtually. Please watch for details on that coming to your inbox.

While we are excited about the ideas we have to connect with you, in order to make that happen, we need to increase our capacity in the areas of Communications, Events, and Career & Education.  We are looking for chairs and committee members. If you are interested in hearing more about getting involved, please reach out to us at

The School has a few initiatives this Fall that connect alumnae with current students: the Career Conference on October 26 and the CHS Mentorship Program, connecting alumnae with students in grades 10-12. If you are interested in participating, please email them at

Wishing everyone a good start to the Fall and looking forward to connecting with you soon.
