Supporting Our Community Partners through the 2024 Winter Bazaar
Crofton House School and the CHS Parents' Auxiliary are pleased to celebrate the 2024 Winter Bazaar with proceeds going to support our community partners: the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre and Women Leaders of Tomorrow. These two organizations work to positively impact the lives of women and girls locally and globally and support our educational program through purposeful learning opportunities, including Ivy Days and the Afghan student program.
The Bazaar is a cherished annual tradition dating back to 1944 when students led the first Bazaar to support the Junior Red Cross war efforts. Today, the Bazaar continues to be a unique opportunity to collaborate and contribute to a community building event. This year was no exception with:
Reflecting on this year’s Bazaar, 2024 co-chairs Vivian Ma, Stephenie Gold and Carol Wang said, “The Winter Bazaar was a huge success due to the hard work of our community, bringing us all together for a meaningful cause of fundraising and hopefully also creating lasting memories for our girls!”
The Crofton House community raised $62,295 through the Winter Bazaar, which will contribute to wide-ranging programming at both Women Leaders of Tomorrow and the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre.
"We are incredibly grateful for the unwavering support from the Crofton House School community. The fight for the safety and well-being of women and girls is more urgent than ever. This event is one of the living proofs that there is strength in community and that together we have the power to make meaningful change happen."
– Elody Croullebois, Fundraising and Communications Specialist, Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre
“Education is a basic human right, and yet the Taliban regime in Afghanistan has denied countless Afghan girls and women that which is so niche to human nature; acquiring knowledge. But the Afghan girls are steadfast and haven’t given up. They reach out to Women Leaders of Tomorrow for educational opportunities, a chance to a better life, and we do whatever possible to assure their educational needs are met. With the rich partnership at CHS, Afghan girls are able to go to school again, and have access to the opportunities that they may not have otherwise. Women Leaders of Tomorrow is so grateful to the CHS community for their generous, unmatched support, and ongoing commitment. CHS gives the girls seeds, and the girls grow a garden.”

Women Leaders of Tomorrow
The Parents' Auxiliary is grateful to the Bazaar’s executive team, including Heather Brunt, Karine Lin, Ming Liu, Ruby Ren, Gitanjli Sood, Ruby Tian, Yan Zhang and Emily Zhong, and all the volunteers, for their service and commitment, and to all those who attended.
Together, the School and the Parents' Auxiliary are looking forward to next year! We are embarking on a consultative process to invite proposals from the CHS community to select Bazaar partners for 2025 - 2028. Look forward to an email with more details coming soon.
