Translating physics from the theoretical to the practical, Grade 12 students regularly take their calculations beyond the classroom. Recently, AP 12 and Grade 11 Physics classes were spotted in the maker space to create perfectly balanced mobiles, as well as down on Kent Field observing the height of bottle rockets, relative to the pressure used to launch them.
Academic Handbook 2020–2021
Our enriched post-secondary preparatory curriculum meets or exceeds the BC Ministry of Education graduation requirements.
This handbook is updated annually and describes all courses offered to students in Grade 8 to 12. The handbook is designed to help answer some of the questions that parents, guardians and students may have, and to act as a guide as students make thoughtful decisions about the courses that will make up their Crofton House School timetable.
The Senior School welcomed students and staff from the Acwsalcta School in Bella Coola, BC at a special assembly. Following the assembly, the visitors and a small number of students and staff participated in a design thinking workshop to develop a plaque for the Thunder Mask that was gifted to CHS by Acwsalcta in 2016–2017. The mask is on display on the upper level of the Chee Family Foyer in the Beedie Fine Arts Centre.
Students in OE11 lucked out with the weather last week as they enjoyed hiking and survival scenarios at Minnekhada Regional Park and Norvan Falls in Lynn Valley Regional Park; and kayaking from Jericho Beach to Spanish Banks.
